Molded-in threaded inserts are installed during the injection-molding process. The insert is held in place by a core pin inside the mold cavity; once the mold closes and the material flows around it, the insert becomes permanently encapsulated within the plastic.
This method provides the highest pull-out strength and eliminates the need for secondary installation equipment.
Molded-In Installation Process
The insert is positioned in the mold cavity using core pins.
When plastic is injected, it completely fills around the insert body.
When the mold opens, the core pins retract, leaving the insert fully embedded with only the internal thread exposed.
