Our ultrasonic and heat-staking inserts are designed for installation into thermoplastic materials using either ultrasonic vibration or thermal staking. These processes melt the plastic around the insert, forming a permanent mechanical bond with excellent pull-out and torque performance.
Installation Methods
Ultrasonic Installation
The insert is pressed into the plastic boss while high-frequency vibration is applied.
Frictional heat melts the surrounding plastic, allowing the insert to sink into position.
When vibration stops, the plastic solidifies around the knurls, locking the insert permanently.
Heat-Staking Installation
A heated thermal press softens the plastic boss.
The insert is applied with controlled pressure until seated.
After cooling, the plastic forms a secure mechanical interlock.
